Cabled Winter Headband<

I would like to thank all the people who helped me get the new version up and ready. It took longer than I wanted it too but at last it is here. The new and improved Cabled Winter Headband.

Worsted Weight Wool I used Superwash Nature’s Fleece Germantown
Size 6 needles US

Materials Needed
Sugar and Cream Cotton Yarn 2-3 Extra Large Skeins
Needles: Circs sizes 6,8 10 & 13 24″ long
Dpn sizes 6 and 3

Gauge is not important because it is a mesh bag

With Size 8 needles Cast on 84 stitches Join in the round
Knit for 10 Rounds
11th Round Eyelet round. K1 *yo k2tog* around end K1
12th round knit
13th round kfb (knit into the front and back) every stitch

Change to size 10 needles knit for 10 rounds
Change to size 13 and knit to desired depth for bag. I knit for 10-12 inches.

Change back to size 8 needles k2tog around 84 stitches Knit 4 rows
Change to size 6 K2tog around(42 stitches) Knit 2 rows
Decrease evenly around
Knit 1 row
Change to size 3 needles
*Decrease evenly around knit 1 row*

Repeat between stars until you have 4 stitches left Draw tail through weave in ends.

Strap. Make an i-cord the desired length thread through eyelets row and sew together

Rows 2, 4, 6, 8 Purl

Row 3 K4, K2tog, YO, K1, YO, SKP, K4

Row 5 K3, K2tog, YO, K3, YO, SKP, K3

Row 7 K2, K2tog, YO, K5, YO, SKP, K2

Inc Row 9 K1, M1, K5, YO, SKP, K4, M1, K1 (15 Stitches)

Row 10, 12, 14, 16 Purl

Row 11 K5, K2tog, YO, K1,YO, SKP, K5

Row 13 K4, K2tog, YO, K3, YO, SKP, K4

Row 15 K3, K2tog, YO, K5, YO, SKP, K3

Inc Row 17 K1, M1, K6, YO, SKP, K5, M1, K1 (17 Stitches)

Row 18, 20, 22, 24 Purl

Row 19 K6, K2tog, YO, K1, YO, SKP, K6

Row 21 K5, K2tog, YO, K3, YO, SKP, K 5

Row 23 K4, K2tog, YO, K5, YO, SKP, K4

Row 25 K1, M1 knit to last Stitch M1 K1 (19 Stitches)

Row26 Purl Across

Row 27 Repeat Row 25 (21 stitches)

Row 28 Purl

Begin Vandyke Lace 2

You will knit these 6 rows 3 times ending Row 6

Row 1 K2 *K2tog, YO, K1, YO, SKP* K3, YO, SKP, K2 Rep from *to* end K2

Rows 2, 4, 6 Purl

Row 3 K2 (K2tog, YO, K1, YO, SKP, K1) twice K2tog, YO, K1, YO, SKP, K2

Row 5 K2 *K2tog, YO, K1, YO, SKP* K2tog, YO, K3, YO, SKP Rep from *to* end K2

Place Stitches on a stitch holder Rep for second half.

Finish by kitchnering the live stitches together. Sew ends together and weave in ends.

SKP= Slip one Knit one Pass slipped stitch over

    Hi, I am working on the headband right now and I am having trouble…In section 1 there are 16 stitches, correct? and when I work in section 2, I do the required p1, kfb etc but there are 6 stitches at the end, are they knitted because I can’t kfb as that would add more stitches… Please let me know…I am new to knitting but have done cables and such but I am having difficulty on the section 2… It is a cute pattern and I love cables…

    Actually there is 4 extra stitches, do I leave them? bind off them? or etc….

    I reworked on my graphing and I got 19 stitches not 20 so 1 sttich would still be on the needle… Please help me…
