Enjoying Reading Again

When I found out I was accepted for a job in my local ISD I decided to treat myself and bought a nookcolor by Barnes and Noble. I love this thing! I have read and read on it! It is very easy to use and fun too. I have my knitting patterns stored on it as well, it is one of the best purchases I have made in a long time.

Books I have read on my nook:
Spinning Forward
Casting About
Knit in Comfort
Joanne Fluke’s Baking Murder series #1,3&4 (looking forward to borrowing more from overdrive library)
Madam Bovary
The House of Mirth

Reading is fun! To keep up with what I am reading you can find both Katie and I on Good Reads

Happy Knitting and Reading

Drunk, Divorced and Covered in Cat Hair

Dear Katie and readers,

I highly recommend this book! Laurie will make you laugh out loud. She even brought tears to my eyes. (missin’ my daddy)

I have been totally annoying the girls by calling them in and reading passages to them. Watch out soon I will be quoting the book on the blog.

She is hilarious, I love her blog and now she has a book that has to be on everyones bookshelf, for both knitters and non knitters alike!

Hi Hanane!

I hope you are having a peaceful Ramadan. So how is the fasting going now that everyone in your house can fast? Isn’t it nice not to have to make food while you are fasting? Talk about torture! Saturday is my fasting day as it is Yom Kippur. It’s not that bad, until someone at temple starts talking about the roast they have in the oven on a timer. Bah!!

Not much of anything is happening here. I bought myself a pattern over the weekend! I couldn’t resist! Check this out!

Ironically for both of our religions, pork is a big no-no, but isn’t it the cutest! I still think pigs are cute! I even bought the yarn. Yes, MORE yarn, but hopefully I will actually sit down and make the pig! And yes, she will be pink!!!! I need to find some cute little fabric now. Maybe something with pigs on it???

And are you up for another reading challenge?? I found one that YOU pick FOUR books with a THEME of YOUR choosing. Sounds do-able to me! I thought my theme will be art. Since I bought “Luncheon of the Boating Party” by Susan Vreeland and I have NOT read it yet. Interested???

That’s about all for now, I have to dash to put supper in the oven! Talk to you soon my friend!

?Question? about Community Jobs

Well Katie,

I have a question, Ever work for a Jewish Organization? If so is it hard, I mean is it difficult to work with people in your own religious community? Because let me tell you it is most difficult to work for Islamic organizations. Remember I walked out of a sub job last school year because I got no backup to deal with the kids in the classroom. My husband is now finding out how hard it is. I just want to laugh because he use to laugh at me and tell me to stick with it, it was a job. Now those words are coming around to bite him in the butt. So I was just wondering if this is just a phenomenon that happens only within the Muslim community or does it translate into other religions as well.
